FAQS
What can I expect on my first visit?
Normally your first visit can last anything between 30 minutes and an hour. During this time the chiroprator will give you a thorough examination. The Chiropractor may write to your GP to request an X Ray or further investigations if neccessary.
What is Chiropractic Treatment?
Chiropractic treatment mainly involves safe, often gentle, specific adjustments, done by hand, to free the joints in the spine or other areas of the body that are not moving properly. These movements often cause a popping sound and may bring relief.
There is however, no instant cure, and some patients may experience temporary symptoms such as pain or soreness around the areas being treated. Spinal disc problems may appear to flare up in the early stages of treatment, and where there is already inflammation, your condition may seem worse to start with.
Will it hurt?
Chiropractic treatment is usually painless unless an area is inflamed (swollen). If this is the case your chiropractor will alter your treatment.
It is important that you talk to your chiropractor if you feel worried about anything either during or after treatment.
What do I need to know before treatment starts?
Treatment is very much a partnership between you and your chiroprator.
It is important to attend appointments at recommended intervals and follow advise you may be given.
